Marbella entrance What was once a small white village of fishermen is now one of the most cosmopolitan places on the Costa del sol with one of the most famous sports ports of the Mediterranean, Puerto Banus, where some of the most famous yachts have anchored.

This residential or holiday Jet-set centre, with it´s millionaires and celebrities makes a nice clean secure and well maintained Marbella. It´s boulevards, Tropical parks and gardens add to the splender. The historical old quarter with the Andalucian/Moorish mix can still be found with it´s flower filled balconies and narrow streets. Pungent fragrances intoxicate you on of every corner.

 

Marbella perfectly placed in the Heart of the Costa del sol. It´s origins date back to 1.600 BC. It´s Roman roots with the name of "Salbuba" and was situated on the "Via Augusta". In the year 711, the moors concord part of the Iberian Peninsula. Under the rein of the moors Marbella became a prosperous town and was given the name of "Marbi-la".

 

Old town

The architecture of the town has a mixture of Moorish- Mediterranean style.
In 1485 the Catholic kings entered in the town to make their mark and give it a Castilian style. This is where the name of Marbella derives. Through history Marbella has been converted into the magnificent town it is today offering its visitors a taste of Andalusia with it's narrow streets and rustic houses, pretty squares and tropical flowers, all this and the cool blue Mediterranean.

Marbella´s main activity is to welcome the thousands of visitors that just keep coming. The beaches, Golf courses, fabulous marinas, water sport, luxury hotels and restaurants some of the finest shops in the world, thriving night life the clean air of a natural environment couldn't be better,. All this goes to make Marbella the place to enrich the body and mind, where life has another meaning.

With it´s privileged climate, luxury accommodation, fabulous sports facilities and not forgetting the natural warmth of the town, Marbella is the ideal for those holidays, conferences or why not simply combine them. There are many large cities near by with lots of cultural spots to visit: Malaga, Granada, and Sevilla, you´re also facing the coast of Africa with frequent short trips leaving from Algerciras. Marbella is very accessible with two airports to chose from (Gibraltar & Malaga) excellent roads and not forgetting the luxury ports.

 

Sierra Nevada beach

Due to the geographic situation of Marbella being backed by mountains on the Mediterranean coast we can enjoy that special climate. With warm temperatures all year round, no cold winters. The average temperature is 19ºC, sun shine 320 days of the year and less than 50 days rain, which we need to clean and maintain the fabulous tropical vegetation in the area.
