Stretching more than seven kilometres through the Málaga highlands, Caminito del Rey follows the sheer walls of the Gaitanes Gorge between Ardales and Alora. The route crosses hanging bridges, narrow passages pinned to the rock face and glass-floored sections, reaching a canyon viewpoint 105 metres above the Guadalhorce river. Built to supply workers constructing the nearby reservoirs and inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII, it is today one of the most spectacular walks in Andalucía.

Before entering the gorge, the tour normally stops in Ardales — a traditional inland village set in the Sierra de las Nieves, known for its hermitage built into vertical rock walls and its Moorish ruins. Time here to have breakfast and pick up anything you need before the walk.

Recomendations:

Wear sturdy walking shoes with ankle support. Bring water, sunscreen and clothing suited to the season — temperatures inside the gorge can be several degrees cooler than on the coast. A small backpack is recommended.

Prohibitions:

Children under 8 years old are not permitted. Entry is refused with open footwear (flip flops, sandals, high heels), bulky luggage, walking aids (canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, trolleys), selfie sticks, umbrellas and tripods.

I don't know the area — how do I find my pickup point easily?

In the booking form you can enter your hotel or accommodation name to see the nearest stops. If you are already in the area, use the 'show nearest' option to locate yourself. Can I change my pickup point after booking?

Yes, booking is instant. You will receive a confirmation email with all the details, including your pickup point and time.

What payment methods are accepted?

You can pay securely online by credit or debit card. Bank transfer and phone payment are also available.

What is the cancellation policy?

Yes, you can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour for a full refund. Not showing up at the pickup point is considered a no-show and is non-refundable. If we need to cancel (due to weather, closures or insufficient participants), we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.

Opening hours for online bookings:

You can book online for next coming day Monday-Fredays until 18.30 and on weekends and holidays until 13.00. After that online bookings is only possible for other days.

Booking terms and cancellations (group tour):

Not coming at the acorded pickup time and place is considered No Show, and No Shows are charged with 100% of the total amount. A refund is posible as long as canceled at least one business day (24 hours) in advance before start of trip. Bank fees and commisions will be deducted from the amount to refund.
